Graham Parker Lifetime Achievement Award
Graham Parker’s career in energy efficiency spanned more than four decades with his work at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) where he retired as Emeritus Senior Staff Engineer. His career focused on the design, conduct and analysis of the performance of buildings and equipment. He has worked with domestic and international clients to develop and promulgate energy policies, improve building energy and water efficiency and deploy new and emerging technologies.
Graham served on the Northwest Power and Conservation Council Regional Technical Forum, and as a member of technical advisory committees for the Bonneville Power Administration and Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA). Graham was PNNL’s representative to the Western Governors Association (WGA), providing technical assistance to the WGA to develop strategies and policies to advance energy and energy efficient programs among the WGA states. Over the course of his career, Graham wrote and presented over 100 papers or briefings at conferences nationally and internationally. He is the author of over 130 publications and a contributing author to several Federal Register publications of energy conservation standards and test procedures. He is a Fellow of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), a member of the AEE Hall of Fame and recipient of the NEEA Tom Eckman Lifetime Achievement Award.
In addition to his work at PNNL, Graham served as a planning committee member and as Treasurer of the Utility Energy Forum. His dedication to the organization has helped to make the Utility Energy Forum a unique, retreat-like event where utilities and program partners can come together to learn, share ideas and develop working relationships.
Graham’s work in energy efficiency and the impacts he has made in advancing energy efficiency standards and technology adoption have been felt not only in the Pacific Northwest, but worldwide. The Graham Parker Lifetime Achievement Award was created in 2025 and named in Graham’s honor to recognize his dedication and hard work spanning over four decades to increase energy efficiency, as well as his commitment to the Utility Energy Forum.
